She dances to the rhythm of her heart
Local dance instructor, Tilandi Venter is keeping the beat alive through her dream of dancing.

LYDENBURG – Local dance instructor, Tilandi Venter is keeping the beat alive through her dream of dancing. Venter, the owner of Into Rhythm Dance Studio, said, “Dancing is the platform in life where I feel safest.”
Her love of teaching, coupled with her passion, makes it easy for her to be good at what she does.
“Dancing has always been my dream. I realised this as a nine-year-old when I started with modern dance. It is a major part of my life. It makes me a happier person and helping others to feel better about themselves, helps me”

The 34-year-old mom and wife said she started dancing professionally when she was a 21-year-old at Beverly Guinney Acquisto Dance Academy in Pretoria.

“I did modern, tap and hip-hop, although I also assisted with ballet. “I later became an assistant teacher. At 23, I joined a ballroom and Latin American studio.”
This farm girl, who grew up in Steelpoort, competed in Las Vegas at the World Pro Am, Ballroom and Latin American Championship. “It was the greatest privilege to travel in 2010.

“She does not only have 13 years’ experience, she also has a teaching qualification in modern, tap and hip-hop acquired at Association of International Dance Teachers (AIDT).
“I have also done an instructor course in drama, ballroom and Latin. In 2018, I registered at the Theatre Dance Association (TDA) and my current classes are based on the TDA syllabus. I am also currently doing my teaching degree through Unisa.”

Venter said dancing is excellent exercise and makes you feel better.
She offers classes for kids (boys and girls) and adults on Mondays and Wednesdays. She currently has 40 students.

“I love working with children. I like to make a positive change and absolutely love having fun. I also offer classes to adults; I offer modern dancing, tap dancing and hip-hop. I have dance fitness classes for ladies in the mornings, and teach wedding couples at night in preparation for their big day,” she said.
Her studio is located in Lydenburg Street.
