Tragedy strikes with death of five in Jane Furse accident

JANE FURSE – Five youths died when their bakkie collided with a truck on the Jane Furse Road.
The incident happened on February 9 at about 04:50.
“It is alleged that a Toyota bakkie carrying eight occupants travelling from the Groblersdal area to Jane Furse collided with a stationary truck at Glen Cowie Village just opposite St Rita’s Hospital.

The driver of the truck escaped the accident unharmed.
Moatshe said preliminary police investigations revealed that before the incident occurred, the driver of the truck had gone to look for help after a mechanical breakdown. The deceased, four males and one female, were identified as Katlego Mosotho (22), Lebo Molongwane (22), Bongani Moyo (34), Elija Sejeng (27) and Silvia Mokiri (27).

The police have opened a case of culpable homicide, and the circumstances leading to the accident are unknown at this stage, but investigations are continuing.
