Mother and boyfriend face murder charges
The mother who allegedly conspired with her boyfriend to kill her baby, appeared in Lydenburg Magistrate's Court on Monday.
Capt Alfred Moela, spokesperson for Lydenburg SAPS, said the two suspects, Keletso Maimela (30) and her boyfriend Funny Pholoane (28), both face a murder charge.
The pair allegedly drowned the 18-month-old in a bucket filled with water near the R37 between Lydenburg and Burgersfort last August.

“The case was postponed to February 19 for further investigation,” Moela said.
He said Maimela reported the matter at the Burgersfort Police Station on January 27.
She was arrested on January 29 and the boyfriend was later apprehended on February 1 in Middelburg. Pholoane is not the father of the baby.
