Alleged killer’s case postponed

MECKLENBURG – The case against Senyatse Lucas Phasha (50), who is accused of killing his four children, has been postponed to May 28 for further police investigation.

Phasha made a brief appearance in a packed Mecklenburg Magistrate’s Court on Thursday. The suspect is facing four counts for the murders of Katlego (9), Joyce (7) Tshepo (5), and Adel Phasha (3). He, however, abandoned his bail application.

During the court proceedings, the prosecution requested for a postponement of the matter citing, outstanding issues that the SAPS needed to complete.

Among those who attended the court proceedings was Limpopo’s MEC for community safety, Dickson Masemola.

“We were made aware of allegations that Phasha’s wife had reported the abuse and death threats from her husband to the Mecklenburg police, and they did not help.

“The allegations will be investigated and necessary steps will be taken against those found to be in the wrong,” Masemola warned.
