Ramathuba earlier confirmed the first case in the Sekhukhune District Municipality which resulted in a fatality.
“Regrettably, case number 30 is our first Covid-19 case to be recorded in Sekhukhune region which unfortunately has demised and was diagnosed through postmorterm results.”
The MEC revealed that the victim was working in Western Cape and arrived in Limpopo on April 15 after he had fallen ill. The victim was reportedly unaware that he had the virus.
It was not immediately clear how the two travelled under the lockdown.
“The family of the deceased including his wife and the son all tested negative of Covid-19. The 15 people who came in contact with the victim also tested negative,” said Ramathuba.
She said all other reports circulating on social media platforms about coronavirus infections in Sekhukhune are fake.
Currently Limpopo has 30 cases recorded with two fatalities. Twenty four of those infected have recovered.
