First Covid-19 fatality in Tubatse confirmed

According to Ramathuba the victim was working in Cape Town as a traditional healer.

” He was brought to Limpopo by his son after he reportedly got sick and had symptoms of Covid-19.

He arrived in the province on April 15. He was taken to a prophet and another traditional healer, with no improvement. He was then taken to a general practitioner and unfortunately he demised in that surgery.

Ramathuba indicated that the swabs of the man were taken by a private doctor on the day he passed away.

“He demised on the April 20 and the post-mortem reports came back on April 23.

“Fifteen members who came into contact with the man have been tested and we are awaiting the results. We have assisted the family in the burial of the deceased.”

The MEC indicated that they have traced all the people who came into contact with the victim.

She said all other reports circulating on social media platforms about coronavirus infections in Sekhukhune are fake.

Currently Limpopo has 30 cases recorded with two fatalities. Twenty four of those infected have recovered.
