Father who murdered his four kids denied bail

The bodies of the children were found at two different locations in the area.

MECKLENBURG – The 50 year old suspect, who allegedly killed his four children at Ga-Phasha, Selatole  on February 18 briefly appeared before Mecklenburg Magistrate ‘s Court on Thursday.

Lucas Senyatse Phasha was denied bail  and his case remanded to  July 16 for a formal bail application.

The bodies of the children were found at two different locations in the area.

“The suspect allegedly informed a neighbour on  February 18  about the murders and also indicated to him the places where the bodies were kept.

“The police were then informed and on arrival, the lifeless bodies of three children aged 09, 07 and 05 were found in the nearby bushes and that of a 3 year old was found next to the local mountain, about 3 kilometers from the first scene, ” said Limpopo SAPS spokesman Col Moatshe Ngoepe.

Ngoepe said preliminary police investigations indicated that the suspect stopped the vehicle transporting the kids from school on  February 17 at about 15:30.

 

“The driver, who apparently knows the father, stopped and let the kids go with their father.”

Three of the children were found with stab wounds. The youngest was found with open wounds. The children were identified as follows: Katlego Pasha (9), Joyce Phasha (7), Tshepo Phasha (5) and Adel Phasha(3).

Ngoepe said four cases of murder have been opened against the accused.
