FTLM records 88 coronavirus recoveries

According to the District Command Council (DCC), 88 people have recovered from 108 positive cases.

BURGERSFORT – There had been recoveries for those who were infected by the Covid-19 coronavirus  in the Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality (FTLM)

According to the District Command Council (DCC), 88 people have recovered from 108 positive cases.

The FTLM is currently having 19 active cases and one fatality.

Taxi ranks will be fumigated.

“Comparatively, as Sekhukhune, we are pleased with the large percentage of recoveries. However, we still maintain that one life lost is one too many.

“As we reached alert level 3 as of  June 1, we are appealing to our people never to relax. Our clarion call still remains, social distancing, covering our faces with masks, washing our hands with water and soap and staying at home,” said executive mayor Cllr Keamotseng Stanley Ramaila.

Ramaila was speaking during the DCC’s weekly meeting on Tuesday.

During the meeting, the DCC also discussed among others, transport and community safety issues, compliance, fumigation of taxi ranks  as well as the water supply throughout the district.

The mayor took the opportunity to rally Sekhukhune’s support towards the gradual reopening of the economy.

He further reported that the DCC’s engagement with mining managers was fruitful.
