Riverview athletes bring their all at Interprimary

Riverview Preparatory School competed at the MJ Zwane Independent Schools Athletic Interprimary at Penryn College on Saturday February 19 and obtained 35 medals.

The athletic team won four gold, 18 silver and 13 bronze. The athletes received remarkable results as they places on the podium for their valiant efforts. Some athletes stood out by making their mark at various track and field items.

Vutomi Mthethwa won two gold medals for running the 60m in 9.78s and the 80m in 12.78s. Olivia Scheepers collected one gold and two silver medals for her talent. She won the girls’ u/12 shot-put with a distance of 8.73m and came in second for both the 150m race and long jump with a time of 23.66s and a distance of 3.35m.

Gift Silinda obtained four medals, three silver and one bronze in both track and field items. She came second for the girls’ u/14 200m (28.95s), high jump (1.35m) and long jump (4.1m). She came third for running the 100m in 13.81s.

Andrew Faria achieved four medals, three silver and one bronze. He came in second place for running the boys’ u/14 200m in 28.94s, jumping 4.24m at long jump and shoving 7.34m at shot-put. He earned a bronze for running 13.6s at the 100m.
