Malelane Rugby Club ready to host 10 matches over weekend

The club are hosting a weekend full of action-packed rugby on March 25 and 26, to which people are invited to come and support their teams.

Spectators can enjoy live games, braais and social fun among friends and family. The entry fee is R20 per person.

Various rugby clubs from the Lowveld and a team from Mozambique will keep crowds entertained as 10 games will be played throughout the weekend.

On Friday, the event kicks off at 17:00. Three games will be played. On Saturday, seven matches will be played – the first one at 11:00.

“We have waited for this weekend for too long with all the regulations and obstacles we all had to endure. Finally, it is time for the rugby club to land some tackles, slide through grass and score points on our field again,” said Shayne Adcock, Malelane Rugby Club’s manager.

The Olifant Watergat Bar will open its doors and Slurp Snoop will have takeaways ready for people to enjoy a bite. Braai packs will be available for those who would like to use the braai facilities, but they need to bring their own equipment. Enough seating will be organised for spectators.

“We like to remind people that we are limited to having 2 000 people at the club over the weekend, but we have organised with sponsors to make the most out of it,” said Adcock.
