Mayor Maila officially handover access bridge to Manoke community

BURGERSFORT – Local communities have heaved a sigh of relief after the Fetakgomo Tubatse Local Municipality (FTLM) mayor, Eddie Maila, handed an access bridge and 1.5km road to Manoke communities last Monday.

The road links Dresden to Manoke. It also connects to the Old Penge Road (D2537).

The Motaganeng access bridge and road were completed recently by the FTLM.

“We wish to thank the community of Ga Manoke and the Banareng Tribal Authority (Moshate) for supporting this project. Today, we are glad to be handing over a successfully completed project. There were no issues during the erection of the bridge and the access road.”

He urged the Moshate and local communities to take care of the new road. “This is your project. As the FTLM we will still be responsible in maintaining this road.

“When having service delivery issues, stop damaging and burning this road. Engage with local councillors when you need services and avoid destruction of properties.”

The representatives from the Moshate said, “We are relieved that the FTLM has finally heeded our pleas. The new bridge will make it easier for everyone to access schools.”
