A traditional Italian restaurant with a flair for flavour

Lupa Osteria hosted a food and wine pairing evening with Durbanville Hills winery on October 13.

Lupa is the immortal Roman wolf goddess who trains Roman demigods in the ways of their city. Over seven foot tall and with beautiful chocolate-red fur, she is reputed to have eyes as silver as the mist.

Remus and Romulus were the twin sons of Mars and Rhea Silvia, who were thrown into the great Tiber River at the command of their evil great-uncle, Amulius. They were saved by the great she-wolf who nurtured and raised them as her own young.

Christiaan Herbst, Lupa Osteria owner Jacques van Zyl and Klippie du Toit socialise during the wine pairing evening.

Having grown strong under her guidance, the twins destroyed Amulius and established the city of Rome. Bringing one the best of authentic Italian dining places, Lupa Osteria promises an exceptional combination of food and wine, and old-school professional service in an elegant yet relaxed environment.

Lupa hosted a food and wine pairing evening with Durbanville Hills winery on October 13. The award-winning winemaker, Kobus Gerber, shared some insightful facts about the industry, why Durbanville Hills wines are unique, and why he fell in love with the art of winemaking.
