A gambling entertainment centre was robbed at gunpoint in Dwarsloop

Three suspects pretended to be painters before pointing a firearm at the security guards and stealing an undisclosed amount of cash.

The gambling entertainment centre was robbed of an undisclosed amount of cash at Dwarsloop Mall, outside Bushbuckridge, on Tuesday April 26.

According to a provincial police spokesperson, Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, it is alleged that three unknown suspects, all wearing face masks, entered the outlet pretending to be painters.

“The security guard at the entrance control point managed to search one of the suspects. The other two me produced firearms and instructed the security guard to escort them to the manager’s office. The manager was also pointed at with a firearm and instructed to open the safe. He complied with instructions, and an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen,” he said.

He also said the police have since launched an investigation and appeal to anyone who might have information to kindly contact Detective Lieutenant Colonel Christopher Mashego on 082 468 1298 or the Crime Stop number, 08600 10111; alternatively, community members can also share the information online at My SAPS app. The police guarantee confidentiality for any information received.
