Notice is hereby given in terms of section 21(1) (a) of the Municipal Systems Act, 2000 (Act 32 of 2000) that the City of Mbombela has prepared a draft Priority Integration Zone Plan.

Local authority notice for the draft City of Mbombela priority integration zone plan
Notice is hereby given in terms of section 21(1) (a) of the Municipal Systems Act, 2000 (Act 32 of 2000) that the City of Mbombela has prepared a draft Priority Integration Zone Plan.
The Priority Integration Zone plan is a Concept and Investment plan aimed at advancing spatial and economic transformation through implementation of an Urban Network Strategy. It will be a priority focus area in the City of Mbombela for concentrating and aligning public and private sector investment.
The City of Mbombela intends to update the (Regional) Urban Network Strategy (UNS) and to develop an Investment Plan for the Priority Integration Zone. The UNS is a spatial targeting methodology aimed at realising inclusive, compact and connected cities. This is to be achieved within the context of the Spatial Transformation goals that address the racially fragmented form of South Africa’s cities and ensure better connectivity and liveable spaces for communities through mixed-use densification. It is based on Transit Oriented Development (TOD) approaches and principles.
Copies of the Draft Priority Integration Zone Plan will lie open for inspection during normal office hours for 30 days from date of publication of this notice at the City Planning Department, Spatial Planning and GIS unit at the Civic Centre, 1 Nel Street, 2nd Floor, Room 219. Copies of the Draft Priority Integration Zone Plan will also be available at the reception of the Mbombela Regional offices in the various administrative Regions. Any comment/representation/objection in respect of the Draft Priority Integration Zone Plan may be submitted in writing for the attention of Mr. B Ntuli and Z Mamali at the Spatial Planning unit at the above address by hand or by registered post (PO Box 45, Mbombela, 1200) or by email bongi.ntuli@mbombela.gov.za and zwotea.mamali@mbombela.gov.za, within 30 days from date of publication of this notice.
