Freedom Front Plus lays charges against provincial department

Approximately two years ago, 17 shop owners who are leasing from the provincial government have been served with eviction notices to evacuate their premises within 30 days.

NELSPRUIT – The Freedom Front Plus today laid charges of fraud and corruption against the provincial Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport (DPWRT) at the local police station.

Approximately two years ago, 17 shop owners who are leasing from the provincial government have been served with eviction notices to evacuate their premises within 30 days.

The department accepted the findings of the Public Protector (PP), Adv Thuli Madonsela in her report of December 2013, stating that it would cancel the leases awarded and commence with a new tender process.

The opposition party is convinced that the tender documents had been tampered with. The full story will be available on Friday.
