Multi-vehicle collision in White River leaves 1 dead and 1 injured
The cause of the accident is unknown at this stage; however, an investigation is under way.
A motorcyclist was killed and another person injured in a multi-vehicle accident on Chief Mgiyeni Khumalo Drive in White River on Sunday, October 12.
According to Martin Jeffrey of Emer-G-Med, the emergency services received a call about the serious accident between White River Crossing Shopping Centre and Laerskool White River.

“Upon our arrival, we found that four vehicles and a motorcycle were involved. Unfortunately, the motorcyclist was declared dead at the scene due to the severity of the injuries. The injured person was rushed to the hospital. I am not certain about the gender of the victims or the involvement of other emergency vehicles,” he said.
Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Moeti Mmusi, said an investigation is under way to determine the cause of the accident.

The road is open for traffic now but was closed for recovery.
“I call on all motorists to drive with caution. My condolences go to the family of the deceased, and I wish a swift recovery to the injured,” Mmusi said.
