WATCH | Schoemansdal Police Station catches fire

Two SAPS office containers and their contents were destroyed by fire.

At around 12:00 today, February 19, two containers that were used as offices at the Schoemansdal Police Station caught fire.

Officers on duty noticed the fire and reported the incident.

Emergency services responded promptly and managed to contain the blaze, preventing further damage to the facility.

No injuries were reported.

Assessments will be conducted to determine the extent of the damage and the public will be informed as more details become available.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

SAPS said the service remains committed to maintaining operational capacity and will see to it that all necessary measures are undertaken to ensure that there is no hampering of operations during this time.
