WATCH: Head-on crash on N4 near Machdodorp claims 1 life, injures 3
Emergency crews implemented stop-and-go traffic control on the N4 near Machadodorp following a deadly head-on collision on February 27.
One person has been confirmed dead and three others injured following a head-on collision on the N4 between Winnaarspoort and Milly’s filling station in the Machadodorp area.
The accident involved a light delivery vehicle (LDV) and a mini-truck and occurred at about 16:20 today, February 27.
“Traffic has been affected in both directions, and a stop-and-go system has been implemented while only one lane is in use,” said Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison spokesperson Moeti Mmusi.
He said the driver of the LDV died in the crash.
Mmusi added that all three injured people were rushed to a nearby medical facility for treatment. Two of the injured were passengers in the LDV, while the third was a passenger in the mini-truck.

“Emergency personnel are busy recovering the damaged vehicles, and we therefore ask road users to exercise patience under the circumstances,” said Mmusi.
