Women’s Month for them, is no different to every other month

South Africa commemorates Women's Month in August as a tribute to the thousands who marched to the Union Buildings in protest against the extension of pass laws to women on August 9,1956.

For Harvey’s Travel World’s Linda Wattrus and Yolandé Scott being a woman means you always somehow end up putting your own needs at the end. It’s that never-ending list you never actually get to finish, which means your own needs and wants are seldom realised. Women’s Month for them, is no different to every other month. “This month for us is just like any other one, we keep our heads down and keep driving ahead as hard as we can to maintain success in our business and within our families.”
They make a difference in their business, because they think females maintain an underlying cognisance that there is a bigger picture, which comprises individuals.
They know that life is not only about the “bottom line” in terms of money, rather
that it is about the human factor. “If you take care of those around you, the
bottom line seems to take care of itself.
“However, it’s impossible to please everyone all the time and you cannot be all things to all people. I think it takes a woman’s insight and intuition to accept this and handle things with diplomacy and care. We always strive to build bridges and keep doors open by maintaining and building strong relationships,” says Linda.
Why do they love what they do? “I abso-lutely thrive on the challenge of arranging a tailor-made complex itinerary.
“The more complicated, the better. Obviously a love for people is necessary too. I love talking to people and finding out about their life experiences, jobs and families. Everyone has a unique story,” she says. Yolandé on the other hand is a figures’ person, “Analysing figures and looking for patterns, trends and solutions is what rocks my world.” They want to motivate up and coming entrepreneurs to identify what they want and don’t let anything or anyone stand in their way.
