TSB honours local football talent at awards
On the evening of August 1, sugar manufacturer TSB honoured local football talent during the award-ceremony of the eight edition of the Selati Cup.
MALALANE – On the evening of August 1, sugar manufacturer TSB honoured local football talent during the award-ceremony of the eight edition of the Selati Cup.
Speaking at the event the company’s CEO, Mr John du Plessis, thanked all the stakeholders who were involved in hosting this tournament.
Du Plessis furthermore said people play an integral role in the running of the company, which is why the company hosts this annual tournament.
He said, “This company can not work without people, the support of the community, and the involvement of the youth. TSB believes the youth is our future.
Not only do we need to create jobs, but we also need to look at other opportunities, and sport is perfect for the development of life skills and abilities, and yes we know we start small, but this is where it all starts.
We hope to create a foundation for the youth in our communities that will offer them hope for the future.”
Du Plessis furthermore congratulated the 2014 Selati Cup champions, Mdladla Peace Maker.
Sicelo Ngomane, Sydwell Mokhweba, Sapula Msume, and Bongani Thabethe, were honoured as the tournament’s top goalscorers.
Herald Meshego of the 2014 Selati Cup champions, Mdladla Peace Makers, was honoured as the top goalkeeper of the eight edition of the tournament.
Skhumbuzo Mvula of Langeloop Blackburn United was voted player of the tournament, and Petros Chauke of Mdladla Peace Maker was nominated as coach of the tournament.
