The South African Christian School’s Sports Association (SACSSA) Nationals recently took place in Pretoria.

Eleven learners of Gateway Christian School represented Mpumalanga at Pilditch Stadium. As is very often the case, these athletes are exceptionally talented and this time they brought home 10 medals.

Those who received medals were Marco Fourie, Cherity Chitenje, Jodi Nader, Shanré Ehlers, José Ehlers, Shaedlyn Bosman, Renaldo Cordeiro, Justin Meerholz, Hannah Joubert, Rebecca Joubert and Tiffany Irons.

Rebecca also qualified to represent the SACSSA on October 25, also at Pilditch, in a competition called Pro-Admin where the best members of South Africa’s athletics clubs will compete against one another.

This youngster, who falls in the u/14 category, will take part in the 200m and 400m events. Currently her time in the 400m is 1min/4sec. We wish her all of the best.
