Selati cup voting closed

Voting for the 2015 edition of the TSB Selati Cup has reached 60 000 votes, with 45 teams reaching the 500 threshold.

This came to light on Wednesday morning during a meeting with TSB’s Mr Kenneth Phiri. According to him, the number of votes increased last week after payday.

“We had a spike in the number of voters that came in after payday, as we had anticipated that some of the people had not yet been paid, and were unable to vote. Last Wednesday we were standing in the region of 15 000 votes, but the numbers shot up on that day,” Phiri said.

He added that there were, however, streams in which teams failed to meet the 500-vote threshold. “There has not been a single team in the Boschfontein, Magogeni, Kamaqhekeza, Malalane, Mawewe, Mbuzini, PVK, and Sihlangu streams.”

Phiri said there were still 95 spots for teams who wished to participate in the tournament.

“The voting line is still open for all the teams to keep voting; 500 is the voting threshold.” This year there is a total of 20 participating streams and a grand total of 317 teams competing.

To vote for your team or any team you would like to see in this competition, simply SMS selati, followed by the stream that is in alphabetical order and then the preferred team that will be in numerical order to 33459.

The voting line will close at midnight today.
