Songstress sings her way through SA to fight violence
"This tour is not just about women and children, but also to show the importance of, and our appreciation for, the men in South Africa. We honour those who treat women with respect and who have given up so much of themselves for the women of South Africa."
WHITE RIVER – Her purpose is not just to entertain, but to create awareness of South Africa’s intolerance with the abuse of women and children. Armed with her velvet voice and acoustic guitar, Natalie Chapman has set on a journey across South Africa to peacefully fight the injustice through music.
The singer-songwriter graced the ears of a small crowd at Casterbridge on Saturday. She delivered a gripping performance with a collection of covers from world-famous artists as well as her own material. Natalie impressed with blues versions of Johnny Cash’s “Ring of Fire” and Brandi Carlile’s “The Story”.

As part of her #90Days campaign, sponsored by KIA motors, Natalie is visiting 90 towns in 90 days to perform 180 times. White River was her 149th town.
“I have encountered a few strange people on this tour, and in every town there will be some dronk omie who will try to take a chance,” joked the brunette beauty.
About halfway through the show, a blonde five-year-old marched on stage and whispered in Chapman’s ear. “Ladies and gentlemen,” Chapman announced, “it seems I have myself a dancer. That’s wonderful because I’ve always wanted one but could never afford it.” And there, fearless Ruby le Roux pulled the most beautiful ballet moves as befit her age.
The Mpumalanga leg of Natalie’s tour closes with a performance at JamJar in Lydenburg tonight at 19:00. To follow her and her fight to eradicate violence against women and children, follow her on
