Veggie sosaties
Chunks of beetroot and butternut on a stick do not only look beautiful but tastes terrific when dressed with olive oil and pepper on a grill. Add pieces of pepper and tomato for more colour and texture.

Cheddar ”mieliebom”
Cut open a bun, fill it with sweetcorn and top it off with cheddar cheese. Place on a grill until the bread is toasted and the cheese has melted. Enjoy the sweet and cheesy explosion in your mouth.

Gem-squash delight
This one is actually a South African favourite. Empty out two halves of a gem squash, fill with sweetcorn, some chutney and feta cheese.

Choco-nana
Few things in life are better than a dessert in the bush, and this is one to keep locked in your memory. Cut open a peeled banana (not all the way through, the halves must still be attached), fill with pieces of chocolates and marsh mellows, wrap in foil and place on a grill. Need I say anything more?

Egg-in-a-shell
What is wrong with a breakfast-braai? Nothing. Simply fold cups of foil, line them with bacon strips, fill it with egg and a slice of tomato and add a few spices. You will have an easy-to-eat cup of breakfast in no time.

Caramapple surprise
Another sweet delight! Core two halves of an apple, layer it with caramel, spice it with cinnamon and place it on the grill. If you feel daring, add a few nuts

We like to gooi mielies. Now you can gooi it with some spice and olive oil and leave it on the grill until it is nice and roasted.

Brown mushrooms, garlic and mozzarella cheese are always a winner. Add some basil leaves and sun-dried tomatos and you have yourself an Italian flavour to a South African braai.

Stokbrood
Who knew some dough on a stick would be so tasty? You could even add some boerewors to the mix by wrapping it in the dough and skewering it. Leave it on the grill until the dough has grilled all the way through. Remember to turn it regularly.

Sweet & juicy sweet potato
The sweetness of the sweet potato is complimented by tanginess of orange juice. Add some cinnamon, wrap it in foil and toss the whole concoction directly on the coals. Could also serve as a delicious dessert.
