NTT Toyota keeps the ball rolling
Duvenage said NTT Toyota had established a long relationship with Tenteleni.
NTT Toyota Barberton has been praised by a local developmental soccer coach for coming on board and providing help to their soccer players.
NTT donated 10 soccer balls to Tenteleni Umjindi Academy (TUA) and according to founder Bezzy Hlophe it will enhance the team’s training.
“We are an academy and we are here to produce good players. We have been having challenges with training and match balls. It is good that we have received the soccer balls as we celebrate our eighth anniversary,” said Hlophe.
Tenteleni was established on October 11, 2008 and comprises u/13, u/15 and u/17 teams. All the teams play in the Umjindi Developmental League, which runs annually from January to October as per the South African Football Association Ehlanzeni soccer calendar.
Hlophe funds the academy from his pocket and most of his players come from needy families. He said his aim is to use sport to help address poverty issues as he believes future professional players will be produced from Tenteleni.
The soccer balls were handed over to Hlophe last Wednesday by Duwies Duvenage, dealer principal of NTT Toyota.
“We are grateful for what NTT Barberton has done for our academy and we hope other businesses will take a leaf and donate to other local teams,” said Hlophe.
Duvenage said they had established a long relationship with Tenteleni.
“We like the initiative of Tenteleni as it keeps the children busy. It is not our fist time to assist them with soccer equipment and it will not be the last. We donate soccer equipment to them at least twice a year,” he concluded.
