Annatjie Myburgh trial to start

The trial date is set for October for two men accused of the kidnapping and murder of Annatjie Myburgh in June last year.

MBOMBELA – The trial for the murder of Annatjie Myburgh is set to start in the High Court in October. The two men accused of kidnapping and murdering her in June last year, reappeared in the Nelspruit Regional Court on Friday.

Paul Mathebula and Selby Mabila face charges of kidnapping, robbery and murder after Myburgh disappeared from her house in Rocky Drift on June 15 last year. A massive search involving the community ensued, before her body was discovered a few days later. Mathebula and Mabila were arrested the same day.

They did not apply for bail and remain in custody.

The results of the toxicology report and second autopsy performed on Myburgh are not yet available. The trial is set for October 16 to 20.
