Choirs stun with melodic harmony
Members of Meridian Mass Choir's shock was palpable when Dozi announced that he would be singing a song they had not practised.

The mass-choir event took place at Meridian Karino on Wednesday night.

Their shock subsided when he started singing the late Brenda Fassie’s hit, “Vul’indlela” which sent the crowd into jubilation and left them asking for an encore.
This was Hugh Masikela’s “Tanai” before the choir vacated the stage, leaving Dozi to give his solo performance.
The pupils from Meridian Karino opened the show with their in-house singing trio that gave a rendition of current house-music hits as well as “Respect” by Aretha Franklin. They later returned as a school choir to sing melodic hymns.

Rob Ferreira’s learners formed part of the mass choir, but not before giving their own renditions of songs, to show the audience what they are made of.
Lady Grey Arts Academy from the Eastern Cape also performed. The choir provided a show-stopping dance performance with a medley of songs, including “Bohemian Rapsody” by Queen, before being joined by the other two choirs on stage.
Dozi was the guest artist for the evening, starting off his performance with a short musical prayer in isiZulu.
