Vehicle sticker leads to arrest of a suspect
While the Citi Golf was being followed, two suspects jumped out of the moving vehicle.
BUSHBUCKRIDGE – A suspect who was allegedly involved in the attempted robbery and shooting of a G4S Security guard last Saturday has been arrested.
The incident occurred at Twin City shopping centre, when the guards stopped for a money collection. Jeffrey Madonsela (39) was exiting a store when three suspects ambushed him and started shooting.
Madonsela was shot four times in the legs, but managed to keep running. At some point he stopped and turned around. He then started firing back, and wounded one of the attackers. The suspects did not take any cash, and fled the scene in a blue Citi Golf which had a sticker on the back. Madonsela was taken to Mediclinic Nelspruit where he is recovering.

J&M Security operations manager, Shaun Terblanche, said while the security company was patrolling in Dwarsloop on Tuesday, they spotted a blue Citi Golf with the same distinctive sticker as the one seen on the CCTV footage of the attempted robbery.
“They called in for assistance from the Bushbuckridge police while they followed the vehicle. J&M’s tactical response unit was also deployed.”
While the Citi Golf was being followed, two suspects jumped out of the moving vehicle. “A car chase followed. The driver was alone in the vehicle. Finally he came to a stop and jumped out of the car and ran. Our officers caught him and he was arrested.”
Police spokesman, Sgt Gerald Sedibe said the 37-year-old suspect was apprehended and is in custody.
“He will be charged with CIT robbery and attempted murder. Police are busy investigating further to arrest more suspects in connection with this matter.”
