BREAKING NEWS: Police debunk hostage rumours as Makro workers resume strike
Police have denied any knowledge of a hostage situation at the store this morning.

MBOMBELA – Employees of Makro this morning resumed their strike action over their salary increases.
It is unclear to what extend the store’s operation was interrupted.
Police have, however, refuted rumours that a hostage situation unfolded when stikers would have locked some customers inside the store.
Mpumalanga police spokesman, Brig Leonard Hlathi told the newspaper that they were not informed of such an incident.
Police dispersed the strikers.
A manager on the scene also denied any hostage situation and referred the newspaper to Masmart head office for comment.
They could not be reached at the time of publication.
