Young brainiacs treated to an inspiring PPE tour
These top maths pupils were treated to a special morning of presentations covering electrical engineering, career guidance, study tips, and a tour of the impressive facilities and equipment.

An aerial drone, two industrial cranes, six massive containerised generators (along with several forklifts, crates and 18-wheeler trucks) and renewable energy were all in action at PPE Technologies in Mbombela last week, as 18 of the top maths learners from Zikodze Secondary and Guduza Secondary schools took it all in.
Thanks to a fruitful partnership between PPE Technologies and Uplands Outreach, these top maths pupils were treated to a special morning of presentations covering electrical engineering, career guidance, study tips, and a tour of the impressive facilities and equipment. For the past three years PPE Technologies has supported the educational activities of Uplands Outreach.
PPE Technologies is an integrated electrical engineering organisation, focused on supplying high technology systems and solutions to mining operations, utilities and industry. Uplands Outreach is an educational non-profit organisation attached to Uplands Pre-Preparatory, Preparatory and College in White River, focused on boosting educational outcomes in the Insikazi School Circuit.
Nicky de Bruyn, director of Uplands Outreach, commented, “As Lowvelders, we should all be grateful for the presence of dynamic, successful businesses such as PPE Technologies.
“Thanks to their success (and philanthropic values), we are able to jointly invest in our children and local communities, for the betterment of all. Together, we look forward to seeing these maths learners choose dynamic career paths, such as electrical engineering, that will take South Africa to new heights.”
