CID working hard to keep CBD at its best

The benefits of joining the NCID far outweigh the costs for members.

The Nelspruit City Improvement District (NCID) is proud to announce that it has been working hard at keeping the city safe, clean and welcoming to all residents and visitors over the festive season and into the new year.
According to TJ Maré, manager of the NCID, the benefits of joining the NCID far outweigh the costs for members.
“During the December holiday, security ambassador supervisor, Simon Hlatswayo received a call for help from a business which fell outside the NCID precinct. Despite this, Hlatswayo didn’t think twice about assisting,” he said.
Two guards were stationed at the premises, which greatly reduced the usual spate of crimes experienced during the festive season.
“This provided great peace of mind to the workers and owners of this business. It is situations such as these that enforce the notion that the NCID should grow its boundaries to include more properties, enabling us to deliver better and more affordable services,” said Maré.
Added to the issue of increased safety in the CBD and surrounds is that of heavy traffic congestion in the city.
With 22 recently graduated traffic officers now patrolling the streets, Maré is confident that the city’s traffic woes might soon be a thing of the past.
“Double parking is one of the worst headaches in the CBD, because it causes congestion on our already busy roads. We would like to highlight the fact that there are lots of safe parking bays available in the CBD,” said Maré, who added that, among others, Karabo Parking Solutions offers safe parking throughout the city. In an attempt to beautify the city, Sitanani Landscapers have been hard at work planting and maintaining plant boxes which contain waterwise plants in front of Foschini. According to Maré, Sitanani will continue their project of adding greenery to the CBD. The NCID also urged business owners to keep in mind the refuse removal schedule for the CBD.
“Rubbish removal is done before 08:00 and then at 14:00. Please do not leave refuse bags out after these hours,” said Maré.
