Community unites to commemorate all who died during World War I

It was a special occasion at which the end of the hostilities of World War I, 100 years ago, was commemorated.

Kerry-Lee Christensen and Lungile Sithole-Wiltshire represented Summerhill Prep at the Remembrance Day Parade in White River on Sunday.

Ds Eddie le Roux of the White River Dutch Reformed Church conducted a short sermon and an Ode of Remembrance was delivered.

After the Last Post and a minute of silence and under a fly-past of several light aircraft, wreaths were laid in remembrance of fallen soldiers by representatives of organisations and families.
