Members of the Bungalows Bowling Club recently participated in the Perfect Delivery Inter Districts competition.
Christie and Darryl Cross played in the B open side in Cape Town and Marlet Ireland played in the open A side that was hosted in Johannesburg.
The Crosses were up for a big surprise when they had to play in wind and rain, but that did not put them off and they still played their best bowls.
Ireland was challenged with the speed of the greens – some dead slow while others were as slick as ice.
The tournament was played from March 11 to 15. The format was 21 ends to be played with three skins of seven ends. With every skin won players could get one point and for a win two points.
The Mpumalanga men’s B team ended in fifth place in their section with 51,5 points and the ladies’ B side ended in third place in their section with 68,0 points.
The men’s open A side ended in tenth place in their section with 24,0 points and the women’s open A side ended in seventh place in their section with 46,5 points.
