New mixed bowls champions for local club

Keith Robertson and Sandra Corbett are the new mixed-couple champions of the White River Bowling Club.

The competition took place on Saturday June 22 and Sunday June 23.

Charl van der Ham and Ampie Swart won the men’s pairs, whereas Beryl Briggs and Miranda Paiva won the ladies’.

Francois Hanekom is also the men’s single winner and Miranda Paiva the ladies’ single winner. Karien Greyvenstein is the novice winner.

While club members competed on home ground, their mates Hanekom and Annette Stassen were crowned as national champions in Margate.

They recently won the Lowveld title, then played off against Central and Highveld clubs to become the Mpumalanga champions that represented the province in Margate this past weekend.
