Well-known artist to host several workshops
This is the ideal opportunity for artists that struggle to get paintings to look alive, or feel that they do not know how to use colour professionally.

Well-known local artist Estelle Hartley will host three art workshops at Ambience Inn in White River in the next few months. The venue is situated at 28 Wally Scott Street.
On September 3 and 4 the theme is ‘A Celebration of Spring’ and artists should be ready to paint beautiful, loose, vibrant and artistic Proteas in oil or acrylic. This is the ideal opportunity for artists that struggle to get paintings to look alive, or feel that they do not know how to use colour professionally.
Artists must bring their own paint (acrylic and oil) and brushes.
Hartley will host the next workshop on essential drawing on October 8 and 9. This should expand artists’ horizons and improve their drawing skills.
“In order to produce a good artwork, it is important to understand the principles of drawing and sketching,” she said. Artists should bring their sketch books and pencils (B1, 2, 4 and 6/8).
On November 5 and 6 it will be time for Beautiful Aloes, where artists will paint aloes that stand out from the rest. “This workshop will improve your art with giant steps,” Estelle promised. Once again, artists should bring their own paint (acrylic and oil) and brushes.
Course fees for each of the workshops is R 1 300 for the two days and include tea and coffee. Artists should bring a plate with something to share and eat for lunch, and during the day.
Art material – canvas, brushes, oil and acrylic paint will also be available for sale at the studio shop.
