Locals enter warrior race
The team did extremely well and coach Lynn Wallace was very proud of the team.
The Toyota Warrior Race was held in Mbombela on August 24. Fitness for Fun from Hazyview entered Lynn Wallace, Hugo Lusse, Lyle Marais, Vincent Calaca, Tannur Calaca, Abigail Wallace, Kayleigh Wallace, Lesaya Calaca, Leane Wallace and Claudia Wallace for the Warrior Race.
Wallace (Lynn), Lusse, Marais and Calaca (Vincent) started exercising in February and entered the commando’s 9- to 11-kilometre run, with 22 obstacles.
The commando placed a bit more stress on upper body strength and agility, with more endurance.
The fitness levels of the commando was 55 per cent, with a route difficulty of 70 per cent. The team did extremely well and coach Lynn Wallace was very proud of the team.
Leane and Claudia Wallace entered the rookie and did 5 to 6 kilometres of running with 15 obstacles. The rookie challenge was all about fun and camaraderie. They did crawling, climbing and jumping through the course, with a little bit of mud here and there.
Tannur Calaca, Abigail Wallace, Kayleigh Wallace and Lesaya Calaca joined in the obstacle course specifically designed for the children.
