Hear the buzz at Cicada Restaurant and Craft Bar #The Great Nelspruit Post Pub Crawl

Mbombelans enjoy a glass of ice cold beer to ward off the heat and the Great Nelspruit Post Pub Crawl is the perfect opportunity to do this surrounded by friends in a great restaurant.

Cicada Restaurant and Craft Bar in Sonpark Boulevard is a rare gem on the local pub scene and a welcome inclusion in this year’s Great Nelspruit Post Pub Crawl. Since its establishment 12 years ago the restaurant has crept into the hearts of Mbombelans craving a more exotic pub atmosphere.

On offer is the usual pub fare enjoyed by locals, such as thick cuts of steak, sourced from top quality suppliers, as well as beef, chicken and haloumi salads and burgers. The restaurant caters for all tastes and, if you are in the mood for sushi, their wraps have set tongues wagging.

Their specials include a weekly sushi special every Monday where six items on the menu are on offer for a mere R60. To get your mid-week buzz, cocktails are half-price on Wednesdays and, to set the weekend off in true Lowveld style, the same special is applied on Saturdays.

A few firm favourites among locals are their biltong cigars, camembert samoosas, ribs, lamb shanks and muchloved steaks. Not afraid to experiment and introduce local palates to new cuisine, their menu is updated regularly, courtesy of owner Garth Snyman and their in-house chef.

Soak up the Lowveld sun at Cicada Restaurant and Craft Bar while sipping on a few craft beers over an exciting menu. The Night of 1000 Stars will be hosted at the venue and more live bands will perform at the restaurant in the near future.

Proprietor, Snyman said, “We have a number of unique items on the menu which keep people returning. Our travels around the country helps us to keep it as fresh possible.”
