Dagga worth R1.8 million confiscated and burned

The dagga was used as an exhibit in the court. It was burned after the SAPS received a disposal order from the court.
Its street value was approximately R1,8 million. In most cases, the dagga was found in the streets and transported by vehicles during patrols.

A message from Capt Richard Shupin Mzimela read:
“Members of the public must not buy or use marijuana, because it contributes to crime rates.

“Our kids buy this drug and start misbehaving at home, school and in public areas. At the end of the day, there’s no future for them. People must refrain from using dagga as it destroys one’s brain cells.”
