Local enthusiasts do it for the love of parkrun

Runners came out in their numbers and also enjoyed some chocolates. They wore red, pink and white for the occasion.

Mashishing parkrun participants celebrated Valentine’s Day in style on Saturday. The area was decorated according to a Valentine’s Day theme. Runners came out in their numbers and also enjoyed some chocolates. They wore red, pink and white for the occasion.

 

Johan Munnik, one of the volunteers, said this was one of the best-attended events that they hosted.

“It was fun-filled and everyone enjoyed it. We appreciate everyone who came through to attend,” he said.

Parkrun is a free, five-kilometre event that is open to everyone. It takes place at MTPA Fisheries, Morgan Street every Saturday at 08:00. To join, go online and register, then print your barcode and attend the next parkrun on Saturday.

The event is organised by volunteers. Munnik said they will host another event on Saturday February 22: Tu(2)Tu(2) Fun Run Day.
