The Mpumalanga 400, the opening round of the 2020 South African National Cross Country Series (SACCS), took place in Dullstroom this last weekend. The event, initiated and sponsored largely by Malalane Toyota, threw everything at the competitors.

While the overall top five places in the race were taken by FIA-class participants, it was the first class victory of the season for former Class T champions, Johan and Werner Horn from Malalane Toyota Hilux, who were also the fastest in their class after the qualifying race. The brothers had a clean run, except for a flat tyre on the first loop. They won a tight battle with team Total Excellium for first in Class T.

The race took its toll, as not all teams managed to complete the full race.
The Mpumalanga 400 was an enjoyable event for most and the success of this event would not have been possible without various motor dealerships across Mpumalanga coming together.

With the ice of the new SACCS season now broken, the teams have five weeks to prepare for Round 2 and an exciting 2020 racing season.
