Bus burns down next to N4 toll road in Malalane
A bus transporting passengers caught on fire next to the N4 earlier this morning.
In the early hours of March 12, a bus transporting passengers caught on fire next to the N4. Securicon Lowveld was first on the scene.
According to Vincent Breumer, from Securicon, the bus came from Maputo and stopped to offload some passengers before proceeding to Johannesburg with the remainder.

Breumer said that as the electronic door of the bus opened, it allegedly, shorted causing sparks to fly and the bus to catch on fire. There were still 23 passengers on the bus when it started catching on fire.

Breumer said that all passengers luckily got off the bus in time with their luggage and that there was only one woman who had minor injuries. The passengers hiked to the Malalane police station for assistance at approximately 01:00.
