Taxi owner shot dead at Ga Rantho
It is alleged that the deceased, identified as Nkwatle Salthiel Tau (64), was asleep with his wife when an unknown assailant broke the bedroom's window and fired several shots through it. The suspect immediately fled the scene. The deceased's wife escaped unharmed.
BURGERSFORT – A taxi owner was shot dead at his home in Ga Rantho village during the morning of March 18. The incident happened at about 01:40.

It is alleged that the deceased, identified as Nkwatle Salthiel Tau (64), was asleep with his wife when an unknown assailant broke the bedroom’s window and fired several shots through it. The suspect immediately fled the scene. The deceased’s wife escaped unharmed.
“Upon closer inspection by the family, it was discovered that the deceased was shot. Police and emergency medical services immediately attended to the incident after they were notified. The deceased was then certified dead on the scene,” said Limpopo SAPS’s Col Moatshe Ngoepe
The Sekhukhune SAPS outside Burgersfort is investigating a case of murder.
The Provincial Commissioner of the South African Police Service in Limpopo Lt Gen Nneke Ledwaba, has condemned the incident and further instructed that the perpetrators be hunted down and brought to book.
The motive for the killing is still not clear at this stage but taxi violence cannot be ruled out. Police investigations are underway and no arrest yet.
