CMR in desperate need of donations

With the extended lockdown, the number of those individuals in need are growing by the day and the public is asked to help.

BURGERSFORT – The Christelike Maatskaplike Raad (CMR) has identified individuals in the community who are in need of not only food, but clothing and finances.

Sharon Makofane, the social worker working with the CMR, said, “I would like to request the community to donate food and money for the purpose of lockdown. The CMR is experiencing high number of requests to assist families. We have tried to engage with Sassa as announced by the government, however their selection criteria exclude pensioners which are some of the lost affected people. Many other retail workers are concerned about salaries and are already feeling the impact of lockdown, especially after the extension announcement”.

If you want to contribute, contact Sharon on 066-489-5680 to organise collection or drop off.
