MEC Rakgoale prompts Sassa recipients to comply with regulations

 Limpopo MEC for social development, Nkakareng Rakgoale, has urged beneficiaries of the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) receiving their payments to adhere to the Covid-19 coronavirus regulations and social distancing.

BURGERSFORT- Sassa beneficiaries will receive their grants between June 1 and 6 to avoid overcrowding and long queues. Rakgoale has urged residents to adhere to social distancing.

“This time Sassa has taken a decision to pay grants a few days into the month of June, to ensure older persons and people living disabilities do not mix with everybody who will rush to buy groceries at retail stores.

“We continue to urge our people to adhere to the Disaster Management Act Regulations. Change of behaviour among all South Africans is important and everyone should practice the following hygiene steps: Wash your hands frequently with soap and water or hand sanitiser for at least 20 seconds, always cover your nose and mouth with a mask or scarf when you are in a public place and to practice social distancing. ” Rakgoale added, “Recipients of grants must note that money will always be in their accounts beyond the said dates. This is our contribution to ensure that the vulnerable people of our society are not exposed to the coronavirus.”
