Alleged Zoom-Zoom murderer arrested
The suspect was also allegedly involved in a house robbery which occurred in Mbombela.

TONGA – A 30-year-old foreign national was recently arrested in Pretoria for the alleged shooting and killing of 45-year-old businessman, Jaived Mmahamad, who was also known as “Zoom-Zoom”, in Nkomazi last month.
According to the Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Brig Leonard Hlathi, members of Nelspruit Crime Intelligence conducted an operation in pursuit of information regarding the whereabouts of the man who allegedly murdered his fellow countryman in Nkomazi.
“Reports indicated that the suspect first committed a house robbery in Mbombela where he made off with a light delivery vehicle,” Hlathi said.
“He then headed to Mzinti a few days later and met up with Mmahamad, where they then both visited a local restaurant in Nkomazi to buy food.
“The suspect then reportedly left the victim at the restaurant for a while, but later returned and fatally shot him and drove off in his vehicle.

Police were notified about the two incidents and a case of house robbery, as well as murder and robbery, was opened.
The investigation team set to work on the case and members were tasked to ensure that the perpetrator was brought to justice as soon as possible. They worked tirelessly and made a major breakthrough, resulting in
the arrest.
The provincial commissioner, Gen Mondli Zuma, has applauded the members for their hard work and commitment.
Zuma has also sent a warning to those who are still being sought by police for committing various crimes.
“We are closing the net on all criminals and we are going to hunt them down until we find them. We would also like to appreciate the work done by the members which resulted in the arrest of this man, their work does not go unnoticed,” he said.
The suspect appeared in court for the house robbery case and the murder case earlier this month, in Mbombela and Tonga respectively.
