Covid-19: The number of confirmed cases in Mpumalanga as of August 11

South Africa has recorded 566 109 confirmed infections, according to an announcement by the minister of health, Dr Zweli Mkhize, on Tuesday August 11.

A total of 19 483 cases have been reported in Mpumalanga.  According to data released by the Mpumalanga Department of Health, there have been 16 416 recoveries and 149 deaths to date.

The number of positive cases in the province can be broken down as follows:

Ehlanzeni District

• Bushbuckridge: 507 cases, 446 recoveries and four deaths
• City of Mbombela: 3 035 cases, 2 392 recoveries and 10 deaths
• Nkomazi: 1 415 cases, 1 201 recoveries and four deaths
• Thaba Chweu: 270 cases and 237 recoveries.

Gert Sibande District

• Chief Albert Luthuli: 530 cases, 426 recoveries and five deaths
• Dipaliseng: 285 cases and 262 recoveries
• Dr Pixely Ka Isaka Seme: 686 cases, 578 recoveries and six deaths
• Govan Mbeki: 2 742 cases, 2 252 recoveries and 23 deaths
• Lekwa: 880 cases, 764 recoveries and 24 deaths
• Mkhondo: 357 cases, 287 recoveries and 14 deaths
• Msukaligwa: 1 123 cases, 904 recoveries and ten deaths.

Nkangala District

• Dr JS Moroka: 291 cases, 269 recoveries and five deaths
• eMakhazeni: 266 cases and 217 recoveries and seven deaths
• eMalahleni: 4 338 cases, 3 817 recoveries and 24 deaths
• Steve Tshwete: 1 830 cases, 1 520 recoveries and five deaths
• Thembisile Hani: 518 cases, 462 recoveries and four deaths
• Victor Khanye: 410 cases and 382 recoveries and four deaths.
