A new way to worship with New Song

The New Song Word and Worship Workshop was held on Saturday February 13 at Church Unlimited.

New Song is what God is doing throughout the world, according to organiser Eunice Combrink.

“He is releasing a new thing for a time such as this. God is birthing a New Song in each person, as we are in Him a new creation that will reveal His glory, love and abundant life,” she said.

Combrink organised the New Song Word and Worship Workshop on Saturday February 13.

“Worship is to lift up and enjoy our King. To touch His heart with our praise offering and gratefulness for His love and beauty.”

The workshop included dancing with flags.

“Flags are banners proclaiming the victory we have in Christ – we are ‘majestic as an army with billowing banners’. Songs of Solomon 6:10.”

She said it is also a sign of God’s banner of love over us.

“A banner or flag declares from which Kingdom we come and sends out a message of peace and victory. The colours of the flags reflect God’s creativity and character. In each colour is reflected symbolic richness. Green is for new life! Growth, healing, peaceful green pastures. The colourful flags proclaim rich messages without words,” she said.

“God says in Isiah 54 that He will lay our foundations with different-coloured gemstones. The tribes of Israel also had a colour and gemstone assigned to them. We as believers in Christ have the fullness of God in us and want to represent Him in all His richness and in the different facets of His nature.

“With a red flag we proclaim His salvation brought by His love for all who want to respond with a resounding yes.

“This day we delved in the Word discovering our rich inheritance in Christ. Our desire is to lift Him up as our Lord and worship Him by laying our lives down so that His life may be celebrated through us. The many colours lifted up is merely giving back to God what He gave to us through Jesus Christ.

“Through creativity in movement and in drama, we opened a door for the people to be unlocked, to be set free and to live out the freedom we have in Christ. With great joy, each person could embrace the life and fullness we have been granted in Christ.”

Combrink said she will be doing another workshop again. She also wants to host a similar workshop with children. “They are so spontaneous and open to move in the freedom we have in Christ,” she said.

“In Amos and Acts it says in those days the tabernacle of David will be restored. We are a dwelling place of God and He desires us to be a house of prayer filled with praise and thanksgiving. God desires His kingdom to come and His will to be done as it is in heaven so also on earth. New Song is preparing the way for the King of glory to enter. To bring heaven down to earth and see the fulfillment of scripture.”
