Buy second-hand and support these charities
As the Covid-19 pandemic continues to hinder fundraising initiatives, charity organisations are turning to selling second-hand goods as means of alternative income. Here are some of the second-hand shops you should consider supporting.

Second Time Around CANSA Lowveld’s second hand shop is situated in Sonpark Centre next to Que’s Café. It has second-hand clothing for adults and children, books and soft toys. It also has a variety of home-baked goods for sale.
SPCA Nelspruit Here you can find clothes, books and homeware for sale. While you are there, why not have a peek at the furry faces that need rescuing?
Hospice Nelspruit The pop-up shop takes place quarterly to showcase more items, but a permanent shop is open in the Hospice Nelspruit building in Ferreira Street. There are all sorts of knick-knacks for sale, including homeware, clothes, books, toys and more.
SPCA White River In a cosy wooden hut on the premises, things like clothes, books and general homeware are sold to procure funds for the four-legged inhabitants. You have the option to search for hidden treasure here, at Shop @ the Kennels or at Barking Bargains in town.
White River Hospice Whether you’re looking for clothes, shoes or household items, you are sure to find a gem to suit your taste at the Hospice White River charity shop. They also have a wide selection of books available for just R10 each. Contact 068-054-7044 to find out more.
Ons Winkel This shop is located at Canary Walk Mall and Office Park in Mbombela, and in the Usave centre in downtown White River, William Lynn Street. It sells clothes, shoes and general homeware.
