Covid-19: Mpumalanga’s total death toll stands at 1 304

According to data released by the Mpumalanga Department of Health, 70 856 recoveries and a total of 920 active cases were recorded on March 16.

The number of positive cases in the province can be broken down as follows:

Ehlanzeni District

• Bushbuckridge: 6 075 cases, 5 869 recoveries and 147 deaths

• City of Mbombela: 14 427 cases, 14 976 recoveries and 158 deaths

• Nkomazi: 6 627 cases, 6 531 recoveries and 52 deaths

• Thaba Chweu: 2 394 cases, 2 334 recoveries and 24 deaths.

Gert Sibande District

• Chief Albert Luthuli: 2 173 cases, 2 119 recoveries and 24 deaths

• Dipaliseng: 633 cases, 612 recoveries and 15 deaths

• Dr Pixely Ka Isaka Seme:2 746 cases, 2 585 recoveries and 119 deaths

• Govan Mbeki: 6 580 cases, 6 393 recoveries and 76 deaths

• Lekwa: 2 305 cases, 2 175 recoveries and 96 deaths

• Mkhondo:1 542 cases, 1 450 recoveries and 67 deaths

• Msukaligwa: 3 932 cases, 3 782 recoveries and 93 deaths.

Nkangala District

• Dr JS Moroka: 1 382 cases, 1 340 recoveries and 38 deaths

• eMakhazeni:1 008 cases, 978 recoveries and 24 deaths

• eMalahleni: 10 877 cases, 10 624 recoveries and 177 deaths

• Steve Tshwete: 6 542 cases, 6 333 recoveries and 132 deaths

• Thembisile Hani: 1 952 cases, 1 891 recoveries and 49 deaths

• Victor Khanye: 885 cases, 864 recoveries and 13 deaths.
