Runners tackle Long Tom Pass
Join the athletes every second Saturday of the month for a 10km run or walk.
A group of athletes from Lydenburg and Mashishing has set fitness goals for themselves. At the crack of dawn on April 15, they ran or walked to the 10km mark on the Long Tom Pass, from Lydenburg. Their aim is to cover this 10km every second weekend until December.

It was initiated by Siphiwe Jozzy Mahlangu. Mahlangu said there is a lack of sports facilities in Lydenburg and Mashishing. He wants people to enjoy the outdoors while exercising.
He told two of his friends, Phaaps Shongwe and Simphiwe Mlangeni, about his idea to involve the whole community.
Through social media, the group quickly grew. They hope that this 10km run or walk will encourage people to enjoy a healthy lifestyle. The group will meet on April 27 at 05:00 at The Heads parking area.
